Meet Mazie!

Meet Mazie! This sweet girl is an 8 year old Jack Russell Chihuahua mix who weighs 13 pounds. She gets along well with dogs her size and has plenty of energy to expend throughout the day. She loves playing fetch, going for walks, and will entertain herself with toys too. Mazie loves to snuggle, but it might take her a moment to know she can trust you first. When we rescued her, she had fear/trust issues to overcome. Initially when she’d seek affection, she’d often change her mind and give a warning nip. She’s doing much better now, and her nips are infrequent. When she gets comfortable with people, she really soaks in the love. Picking her up has been fine too. We don’t know what she’s been through before coming to us, but definitely needs a patient and experienced dog owner to help her gain confidence and trust. No young children please, due to her fear issues and defensive nipping. She would benefit from an active family who wants to give her walks and help her use up the Jack Russell energy she still has at times. She does well on a leash and is very motivated to go on walks.
