Meet Izzy!

Meet Izzy! This senior dog is AMAZING! He came in as a stray to the Henderson shelter. They aged him at 12 years old. This little guy is a snuggle bug. His tail is always wagging and loves all people and doggies. He doesn’t have many teeth so he needs small treats and soft kibble. Izzy seems to be potty trained. Only a few accidents in my house and will go to the door to be let out. He’s working on learning the doggie door. The only major issue with Izzy is that he has dry eye and it can be VERY painful if not treated daily. He will need to be on meds for his entire life otherwise his eyes will need to be taken out. We obviously don’t want that to happen so the cost of his eye meds is about 50.00 per tube and a tube lasts a little less than 2 weeks. He ABSOLUTELY needs these meds forever so if you want to adopt him, please know the weekly cost to keep him healthy and happy. Izzy takes his eye meds like a champ. His hearing is going but he can hear you if you talk loudly. Also his tongue sticks out adorably. Izzy’s preferred day consists of: sleeping 20 hours a day eating some yummy treats and food taking his eye meds like a perfect gentleman playing with a toy or your fingers for a few minutes (Izzy is vocal when he plays and he sounds like a motorbike starting up. That just adds to his cute personality and it is hilariously funny) wandering, sniffing and resting outside getting pets from his person He’s literally a great senior dog!
