Meet Cedar!

Hi! My name is Cedar. I’m a 10 year old female Border Collie mix. My foster mom says I seem like I’m mixed with a lab because of my ears, webbed feet and head. I’m SUCH a good girl! In fact, my foster mom would keep me if she could be home more on a regular basis. I’m a bit nervous at first but once I get comfortable, I’m a dream dog! I love to cuddle and be pet, nap and just hang out with my people. I’m not a big fan of dog toys but I LOVE walks and will need an active family who will walk me every day. I know sit, stay, potty and take treats very gently! I haven’t had one accident since being with my foster mom. She takes me out every few hours but if I need to go, I stand by the door and let her know. Unfortunately, prior to being with my foster mom, I came from an abusive household. My previous environment made me really nervous so I paced and whined to release my anxiety. My abusive dad was going to put me down because my anxious behavior made him nuts. Aside from going to the vet to get my toenails clipped (I HATE that!), I haven’t whined at all! Thankfully, A Home for Spot saved me and I was placed with a kind foster. I did the same thing with my foster mom the first day but after that, I’m just as happy as can be. In fact, my foster mom would keep me if she could be home more longer term. We don’t know too much about my relationships with other dogs but I don’t seem bothered by them as long as they don’t lunge at me. On my walks, I’m very interested in non-toddler kids because my old family had one but we don’t know much outside of that. I’m looking for a quiet home where I can relax. I don’t like to be alone much so someone who is home a lot is important. I’m a good traveler too so I can come along when appropriate!
