Meet Claire!

Amazing dog alert!! Claire is a 7 year old cattle dog mix. We originally were contacted by a shelter in California about her a few years ago. Claire had been at the shelter for a long time and they were having a hard time getting her out of her shell. She had severe anxiety and was not doing well, so she was in danger of euthanasia. We saw her picture and immediately said YES! We took Claire in and gad her for a few months before she was adopted to a home on a huge property with a horse and another big dog for Claire to play with. Claire even had a kitten sibling she kissed and snuggled with. She thrived and loved her home so much for a full year! Unfortunately, her owner fell on hard times medically and financially and had to move. She had no choice but to surrender Claire back to us. Claire’s foster mom that had her previously welcomed her back and luckily it wasn’t too stressful for Claire. She does great with other dogs, but can be a little too playful for older small dogs. Claire takes a long time to trust men, and her foster dad and brother are still kinda scary to Claire. We are looking for a few things for this housetrained, sweet and smart girl: a large property for her to run, another big playful dog for her to wrestle and hang out with, no men or kids (or at least a man that is patient and will work with her at her pace). We are open to out of state adoptions for the right fit- but must be within a reasonable driving distance.
