Meet Gary!

Hi I’m Gary! I’m about 7 years old and around 10 lbs. I can be a little standoffish to new people, but once I know you I am ready to cuddle up for some love and playtime. I am a barker. If there is anything going on I have to bark to make sure you know about it and that I am part of it, generally by barking at everything/everyone. I like playing with my foster brother (who looks a lot like me) and we love to boss around the big puppies together. I like to lay on my foster mom’s lap while she works, or on my pillow by her, or on my chair by her. If she’s not looking I’ll steal her chair too! I was probably mishandled a little bit as I am afraid of wooden spoons and if I think I’m in trouble I may run away and try to nip. I’m good in a crate at night, but prefer to sleep above my foster mom’s head in the pillows. It’s way more comfortable up there. I like chasing toys, and some small chew bones (preferably the ones I steal from the big puppies thank you). My foster parents taught me how to use a doggy door so I can let myself in and out. I’m a typical Chihuahua as I think I am much bigger and scarier then I actually am so my foster parents call me “Scary Gary”. I am good left alone in my crate while my foster family is at work. I am good on a leash and like car rides (preferably comfortably ensconced on someone’s lap). I’d love a nice house (no condo’s or apartments due to the barking) with folks who are home or like to take me along. You will have to be patient with me and let me come to you, but if you are kind to me, I will be your favorite love-bug/cuddle monkey. I am micro-chipped, neutered and current on my shots. If I’m the boy for you please submit an interest application. My foster mom assures me there is a great wooden spoon free home for me out there.
