A Rom-Com in the Making

When we adopt a dog, we often have big dreams of prancy walks in the park, puppuccinos on a sunny day, a wing guy or gal to help us meet new friends.  A veritable rom-com in the making…you know I’m not wrong.

Then we bring this adorable, furry stranger into our home and quickly realize they have a different idea. Unfortunately, there are many factors involved that play into a dog’s social abilities and much like humans, life experiences mold them into who they are.

Sometimes it takes a lot of work, but socialization is essential if you want a well-balanced pupper. There are a ton of opportunities out there – from free public classes to meeting up with friends who also have dogs. Get creative and give lots of praise when your dog does well.

Reach out when you need help, most good rescues can provide the resources you need or point you in the right direction. As animal advocates, we want you to have the best relationship with your dog possible and live out all your rom-com dreams. It means one less dog in a rescue.
