A Home 4 Spot, in conjunction with K-9 Rehabilitation & Training, is working with Pups On Parole!
Here begins months of hard work, commitment, schedule adjustments, and paperwork, all part of learning to take the reins of an incredibly powerful program that benefits both inmates and rescue dogs in our community. Together we can make a positive and life changing difference in lives both human and animal.
Our goal is to take our community’s abandoned, struggling, and long-term stay dogs into this program, ensuring they become the best companions possible for their future homes. Our inmate handlers will train them and establish a daily routine to combat issues such as separation anxiety, among other things. They will receive behavioral and social training to address common rescue dog issues, helping them lead more balanced and happier lives.
In return, they will offer their inmate handlers a therapeutic blend of unconditional love, acceptance, companionship, as well as a sense of purpose and achievable goals. They’ll be taught viable skills they can take out into the world to gain employment after release, and so much more.
